Authentic Academics
RESEARCH PROJECTS
Our Current Focus:
Authentic Academics
Having completed five years of the Lost in Citations podcast, we wanted to find a method of utilizing the catalogue of over 180 episodes for further academic endeavour. Authentic Academics is a free-to-use, Creative Commons repository and materials archive, available to teachers, students, and independent learners. Each episode will come with a summary, transcript, and lesson activity ideas, all downloadable and not behind a paywall or requiring a subscription.
Other Ongoing Projects:
This is a podcast that is intended to bring a face to the name and a voice to the words. The podcast covers a wide variety of academic fields and pledges to bring regular content to listeners with both a wide variety of interests and single topics. Started as a way to get in contact with academics the producers regularly cited and admired, the podcast has expanded in scope to include other invitees as single guests and conference reports involving multiple guests. Started as a COVID quarantine project, the interviews are now conducted online and in person. To date, it has led to the academic production of twelve presentations, four journal articles, a book chapter, and a book, “Podcasting: Giving a voice to the words,” published in 2025.
